The Ocean City Ecumenical Council was founded in 1983. The council is comprised of members from Ocean City’s Houses of Worship. Approximately 200 volunteers operate the Food Cupboard, the Clothes Closet, and the Outreach Program.

MEMBERSHIP

The Council membership shall be composed of officers, trustees, and up to three (3) designated laypersons called delegates from each church or place of worship located in Ocean City, New Jersey, and up to six (6) delegates at large. The council meets at the various churches on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm except February, July, and August.

Delegate Duties

  • Attend monthly meetings and serves on committees; keeps their church volunteers informed of all policies/decisions regarding the Food Cupboard and Clothes Closet scheduling and duties
  • Relay pertinent information to churches/places of worship for publishing in Bulletins and church websites and are responsible for coordinating delegates to represent their church or place of worship

Delegate at Large

Attends monthly meetings, serves on committees, and serves as an ambassador to the community
